  1. We have changed the BigD BBS list to improve the list in several
  2. ways:

  4. 1. We are only allowing ONE BBS listing per area code. This will keep
  5.    keep the list current and make it easier to read and understand.
  6.  
  7. 2. We are now giving each listing two lines. We will continue to use the
  8.    BBS legend that makes the list outstanding. We have increased the size
  9.    of the comment section to 56 spaces which is almost a full line and
  10.    allows the sysop to really customize their listing.
  11.  
  12. 4. We have added a new section to the list for all new boards that have
  13.    been entered in the last 30 days. This section can found at the 
  14.    beginning of the list.
  15.  
  16. 5. We have updated the door that we use to create your listing and
  17.    includes some additional information. So if you're a sysop please call
  18.    The Blues Cafe at 214-638-1181 or Metro 214-988-1965 and make changes to
  19.    or enter your listing. (Thanks to Chuck Hogard and David Smith.)

  21. 6. We have also added an automated call back system that calls and checks to
  22.    make sure each BBS is up. If the callback system gets a "BUSY" we assume
  23.    it is a BBS and do nothing to the listing. If we get a "VOICE" response we
  24.    delete the listing. If we get "NO ANSWER" we log this.  If we
  25.    get 3 "NO ANSWERS" in a row the listing is deleted. We will verify the
  26.    boards on a monthly basis. We would still appreciate a call to let us
  27.    know if your system goes down.

  29. 7. The BigD list contains a date at the top of the list so that you will know
  30.    when date the BigD list was created. We update the list every morning.  
  31.    We now include a verification date at the end of each listing so everyone
  32.    knows the last time that BBS was verified.

  35.    We are always looking for suggestions on ways to improve the list. If you
  36.    have any suggestions or comments please let us know.

  38.    If you would like to have the BigD BBS List sent to you FTS-style please
  39.    send us a netmail message to 1:124/5134 or 1:124/8014 and we'll gladly add
  40.    your system to the BBS's that we already send it to every day.
  41.    You may also request the list using the magic word of BIGD or 
  42.    the filename BIGD.ZIP (FTS style only.)

  44.    If you would like to request the current BigD list via E-mail (Internet),
  45.    send a message to bigd@bluecafe.com and you should get the list in text
  46.    format.
